Luxemburg joining the donor community of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund with a EUR 2 million grant
Luxemburg has joined the ranks of donors to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund with its recent contribution of EUR 2 million in order to help Ukraine repair the severe damages inflicted on its energy infrastructure. Luxemburg’s contribution is a clear sign of solidarity with Ukraine, in particular facing severe attacks on a daily basis in the recent weeks.
The Fund, supported by contributions from governments, international organisations, and corporate donors, plays a crucial role in providing immediate assistance to repair critical energy infrastructure.
Administered by the Energy Community Secretariat in cooperation with Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, the UESF has attracted approx. EUR 1 billion from 28 international donors. While the Fund has made rapid progress in refurbishing and installing key priority capacities for winter, further contributions are urgently needed to sustain recovery efforts.
