Energy Community Secretariat at SET Trebinje 2025: transpose the Electricity Integration Package to accelerate integration
Earlier today, Energy Community Secretariat (ECS) Director Artur Lorkowski opened the Energy Summit in Bosnia and Herzegovina (19–21 March, SET Trebinje 2025) with a forward-looking message on how accelerating the Western Balkans’ energy integration can unlock major investments in power infrastructure and renewables while bringing the region in step with EU markets. Ahead of the Summit, Energy Community Secretariat Director Artur Lorkowski and Head of the Electricity Unit Jasmina Trhulj met with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy and trade officials, including Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac, Republika Srpska’s Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić, and Federal Minister of Energy, Mining, and Industry Vedran Lakić. Discussions focused on finalising the transposition of the Electricity Integration Package, a precondition for the accelerated integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the EU electricity market, and a core obligation under the Treaty that established the Energy Community.
SET Trebinje 2025 serves as an important platform addressing the future of the regional energy sector within the broader European context, bringing together energy leaders, investors, and policymakers to drive meaningful discussions and cooperation.
The Energy Community Secretariat (ECS) leads the acceleration of energy market integration between the Contracting Parties region and the EU, providing technical assistance and policy guidance to ensure the region fully benefits from closer alignment with the EU energy market.
