Legal basis and purpose
Legal basis and purpose
The Risk-Preparedness Regulation addresses electricity supply security by establishing rules for cooperation among Contracting Parties to prevent, prepare for, and manage electricity crises. It promotes solidarity, transparency, and compliance with the competitive electricity market. As part of the Electricity Integration Package, the regulation supports the integration of Energy Community Contracting Parties into the European electricity market.
The Security of Supply Coordination Group sub-group for electricity within the Energy Community is responsible for implementing the regulation’s key tasks.
